Being a first time mother to a healthy baby girl is such a blessing and it has taken my life over like I never could have imagined. Balancing work and being a mother is not easy, especially in the first few months. Our miracle came to us in September and she is four months old now. I am slowly starting to create more "me" time and adapting to life with a new baby. My husband and I don't have much energy by the end of the day and after caring for her all day it is hard to think about shooting photos. I know it is going to start coming together and we will strike a balance but I never knew it was going to be so hard to come up with the right formula for being a mother, wife, photographer and small business owner. I need to relax and not be so hard on myself. We are working on it and right now being a mom is my number one priority! I haven't even had a chance to setup my studio for a photo session with my daughter yet. When she was three weeks old we went to our dear friend Carolina Adame Photography and she photographed a family and baby session for us.
The photos above are from that session. I am so lucky to have a supportive husband who respects my work and really wants me to thrive. He works full time and is such a hard worker. We make a great team and our little one is surrounded by some hard working parents who love her more than anything! In the end that is what matters to us most and I am happy to let my photography business take the backseat for a bit while I get this balancing act sorted!
