Her film was recognized as an amazing example of creative documentary filmmaking.
I’m deeply honored to win a Jury Award for my film, The Power of Choice. It was a fast paced journey of four months of straight writing, interviewing, recording, shooting and editing. After that I promoted the film and ended up publishing it. The film has been viewed by so many different people from so many different backgrounds. That was my biggest hope when I created the film. The most important part of the film for me was being able to show the different perspectives that people oftentimes don’t think of when they think about reproductive justice and abortion rights. I will continue on my quest to make the best documentaries I possibly can. The awareness film festival is in its 15th year. I met so many amazing filmmakers, who care so much about the world, they spend their time making sure they shine a light on the human experience. They create films that do more than entertain. I saw comedies, dramas, documentaries, and music videos. Some of the films even brought me to tears.

I am also honored that my film was shown at the Regal Theatre LA live in downtown Los Angeles.  Seeing my film on a 4K big screen was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. I am forever grateful to be a part of the awareness film festival. If anybody knows any rich producers, who want to create a documentary about reproductive justice or women’s rights, please send them my way! For now, I’m focused on the election and making sure I’m promoting people to vote, especially in the swing states. As of today, it’s not too late to register. Make sure that you vote by mail or show up on election day.
